Climate and the carbon cycle

چکیده
From bees to honey Neonicotinoid pesticides are applied globally. Concern about their impacts has been increasing as evidence for negative effects on bee health and persistence has accumulated. Mitchell et al. looked at the prevalence of these pesticides in honey from across the world and found traces in the majority of samples tested (see the Perspective by Connolly). The neonicotinoid compounds occurred at levels considered safe for human consumption, but the contamination confirms the inundation of bees and their environments with these pesticides, despite some recent efforts to decrease their use. —SNV

Investigating the carbon storage in different climatic regions and the affecting factors in Kordestan Province
In recent decades, climate change and global warming have become to one of the critical global challenges that have attracted the attention of researchers. Knowing the effects of climate change on soil carbon can be used as the best tools regarding to understand the soil carbon cycle, therefore, this study was carried out to investigate and compare the amount of carbon storage in different clim...
متن کاملLife-Cycle Assessment of Environmental Effects on Rapeseed Production
In recent years, increasing the awareness on the environmental problems, especially global warming, has increase the concerns about the impact of emissions on the global climate. The current study was conducted to evaluate and analyze the environmental effects of rapeseed production in the form of life cycle using SimaPro software with the aim concentration on climate changes and impact of acid...
متن کاملImpact of Climate-Carbon Cycle Feedbacks on Emission Scenarios to Achieve Stabilisation
Climate change will affect climate-carbon cycle feedbacks such that permissible emissions to achieve stabilisation will need to be substantially lower than hereto expected. This is especially true for higher stabilisation levels with reductions to total permissible emissions of over 30%. There is an “optimal pathway” to each stabilisation level, defined as that allowing maximum permissible emis...
متن کاملExplaining the eventual transient saturation of climate-carbon cycle feedback
BACKGROUND Coupled climate-carbon cycle simulations generally show that climate feedbacks amplify the buildup of CO2 under respective anthropogenic emission. The effect of climate-carbon cycle feedback is characterised by the feedback gain: the relative increase in CO2 increment as compared to uncoupled simulations. According to the results of the recent Coupled Climate-Carbon Cycle Model Inter...
متن کاملTerrestrial Carbon Cycle Dynamics under Recent and Future Climate Change
The behavior of the terrestrial carbon cycle under historical and future climate change is examined using the University of Victoria Earth System Climate Model, now coupled to a dynamic terrestrial vegetation and global carbon cycle model. When forced by historical emissions of CO2 from fossil fuels and land-use change, the coupled climate–carbon cycle model accurately reproduces historical atm...
متن کاملDecrease of emissions required to stabilize atmospheric CO2 due to positive carbon cycle–climate feedbacks
[1] Positive feedbacks between the carbon cycle and climate have the potential to accelerate the accumulation of atmospheric CO2 over the next century. Here, I address the question of how climate-induced carbon cycle changes could affect the emissions required to stabilize atmospheric CO2 at 1000 ppmv. From a coupled climate-carbon cycle simulation, I calculated emissions that are consistent wi...
